Discussing these changes with a psychologist can help you cope with the physical, emotional, or lifestyle adjustments you may be facing.

 

  • Behavioral Sleep Medicine – Learn steps you can take to sleep better. Behavioral Sleep Medicine involves the evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders by addressing behavioral, psychological, and physiological factors that interfere with sleep. These services do not involve medication, but can be used in conjunction with medication, medical devices such as CPAP, or other treatments prescribed by your physician.

 

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy – Improve your mood and overall well-being by changing your self-talk. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is an individualized treatment that focuses on the relationship among your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. You will be guided through strategies to identify and change the messages you give to yourself as well as the impact of these messages on your health, emotional state, and actions.

 

  • Mindfulness Training – Focus on the only time that truly matters, here and now. Stress and tension often come from thoughts and worries about either the past or the future. Mindfulness Training helps you learn to shift your focus onto the present moment with a gentle and nonjudgmental attitude, which promotes relaxation, stress reduction, and improved overall health.

 

  • Motivation Enhancement – Make the changes that you want to make in your life. Motivation Enhancement includes an individualized exploration of the choices you are currently making in your life, how these choices differ from the ones you want to make, and what you can to do about it. This process can increase your motivation and will-power to make changes that can improve your health and lead to a healthy lifestyle.

 

  • Pain Management – Learn how you can live with chronic pain instead of having chronic pain control your life. Pain Management can include a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Relaxation Training, stress management, or other techniques to help you develop skills to gain control and move forward with your life.

 

  • Relaxation Training – Specific strategies to quiet the mind and relax the body. Relaxation is a valuable tool to counter the mental and physical ways stress affects the body as well as enhance overall well-being.

 

  • Stress Management – Develop skills to cope with both life changing and every day stressors. Stress affects every system of the body and can have a detrimental impact on physical and emotional health. Stress management skills can improve your coping and reduce the toll stress takes on your body.


  • Testing – Psychological testing services are available for pre-surgical evaluations and to assist with diagnosis and treatment planning.
